Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Counselling is a supportive, professional service offered by trained psychologists and counsellors to help you navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re dealing with stress, emotional difficulties, or relationship issues, counselling gives you practical tools to manage your mental health and support personal growth.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, down, or stuck in patterns that are affecting your daily life, relationships, or work, counselling can help. It’s also a valuable resource if you’re going through a big life change or simply looking to better understand yourself and grow.

At Innerlogue Therapy & Psychology, we’re here to walk alongside you through life’s challenges—with care, compassion, and evidence-based support. Our team of Calgary psychologists, counsellors, and registered social workers is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate a wide range of concerns, including relationship struggles, anxiety, and depression.

Whether you’re seeking support for personal growth, improved communication, or emotional well-being, our experienced professionals provide personalized care grounded in the highest ethical standards set by the College of Alberta Psychologists.

As a trusted counselling centre in Calgary, we offer a safe, inclusive space where healing and growth can begin. If you’re ready to take that first step, we invite you to book an appointment and discover how we can support your journey toward lasting change.

We know that opening up to someone new can feel daunting — and that’s completely understandable. In our sessions, you’re encouraged to share at your own pace. Whether you choose to open up gradually or dive right in, this is a safe and supportive space for you. Each session lasts about 50 minutes, during which we’ll work collaboratively to set meaningful goals and explore how we can best support you and your family.

To get started, we offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. This no-obligation call gives you the chance to ask questions, get a feel for our approach, and determine whether we’re the right fit — or whether a referral might better suit your needs. If you feel that longer sessions would be more helpful, 90-minute appointments are also available. Simply speak with your therapist to discuss this option.

There are rare exceptions to this — such as situations involving imminent and serious harm. These will be clearly discussed with you during your first session, so you know exactly what to expect.

That’s a common and important question. Research shows that a strong connection between you and your therapist can significantly impact the success of therapy — sometimes even more than the specific methods used.

We encourage you to find a therapist who not only meets your needs professionally, but also makes you feel comfortable, heard, and respected. All of our therapists take a client-centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approach to ensure you feel supported throughout your journey.

Still unsure? Book a consultation with our intake team, and we’ll help you find the right fit based on your needs and preferences.
