LIZZIE SMITH
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist dedicated to helping adults, children, youth, and couples address their mental health and well-being challenges. With my background in the Canadian Armed Forces, I possess a unique perspective and a deep commitment to providing specialized support to veterans, first responders, and those coping with complex trauma and PTSD.
Counselling, to me, is more than just a job – it’s about connecting, understanding, and growing together. I take an eclectic and holistic approach, drawing from a diverse range of evidence-based modalities. My toolkit includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-focused therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. This diversity enables me to offer highly personalized and effective therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs.
I am dedicated to creating a welcoming, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment for all clients, with a particular passion for supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. I bring a warm and humorous approach to my practice, promoting an atmosphere of trust and understanding. I also advocate for social justice, ensuring that every individual receives the respect and support they deserve.
If you are ready to embark on a journey towards healing and personal growth, I am here to guide you. Together, we can work toward a brighter and healthier future.
