Aiko Tan
Hello! My name is Aiko Tan, and I am a Master’s student currently completing my counselling practicum at Innerlogue Therapy & Psychology. As a first-generation Asian Canadian, I have firsthand experience navigating multiple cultural identities, life transitions, and the unique challenges they present. My journey has shaped not only who I am but also how I connect with others—with empathy, openness, and respect for each person’s lived experience.
Before entering the field of counselling, I worked for nine years in psychometry, supporting individuals through psychological assessments and developing a deep appreciation for how our stories, strengths, and struggles intersect with our mental health. With a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology, I bring both a scientific foundation and a human-centred approach to therapy.
My approach is primarily person-centred, with integration of cognitive behavioural therapy strategies to help you develop practical tools for managing challenges. I remain flexible and adapt to each client’s unique needs, ensuring therapy is always collaborative and tailored to you. My goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you work toward the changes you hope to see in your life.
