Heather Middleton
Hi, my name is Heather and I’m a Master of Counselling Psychology student completing my internship with Innerlogue Therapy & Psychology.
Sometimes we know that something in our lives isn’t working but understanding why or knowing how to change feels much harder. You might find yourself having the same argument with your partner, feeling overwhelmed by emotions that seem to come out of nowhere, struggling with anxiety or self-doubt, or noticing that old experiences continue to shape the way you see yourself and relate to others. I believe therapy can help us make sense of these patterns with curiosity rather than judgement.
My approach is relational, person-centered, and trauma-informed. I aim to create a space where you can show up as you are, without feeling like you have to use the right words, minimize what you’re going through, or have everything figured out. Together, we can explore what may be happening beneath the surface, recognize the ways you’ve learned to cope and protect yourself, strengthen the things that are already working, and develop new ways of responding that feel meaningful and realistic for your life.
In the therapy room, you can expect me to be warm, genuine, curious, and engaged. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where there is room for humour, emotion, reflection, new perspectives, and practical change. You don’t need to know exactly what you need from therapy before you arrive. We can figure that out together!
