Real Talk: Men's Group Therapy in Calgary
Men’s Emotional Support Group │ Open to male-identifying individuals
Program Snapshot: Men's Group Therapy in Calgary
About the Facilitator
Real Talk is facilitated by Kyle Staples, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) specializing in men’s mental health. With a background in supporting men through identity, emotional regulation, and connection, Kyle created this group from a genuine belief that male-identifying individuals deserve a space designed specifically for them, one that meets them where they are, without pressure or judgment.
Why a Men's Group?
Men are often taught to be silent, to push through, stay strong, and figure it out alone. Real Talk exists because that silence has a cost. This group is a space where you don’t have to be silent. Whether you’re navigating something specific or simply want a place to be honest, Real Talk offers connection, perspective, and the rare experience of being heard by others who get it. A core goal of this group is to foster genuine community, the kind that doesn’t disappear when the session ends.
Who Is This Group For?
Real Talk is open to all male-identifying individuals regardless of sexuality, ethnicity, cultural background, or political belief. Diversity is not just welcomed here, it is encouraged. Hearing from people with different lived experiences is what makes this group valuable. Understanding what male-identifying individuals navigate in today’s society requires hearing from all of them.
What Can You Get Out Of This?

Attending Real Talk can help you:
- Develop a stronger sense of who you are
- Build emotional awareness and practical regulation skills
- Break through isolation and experience real connection
- Gain perspective from others navigating similar experiences
- Walk away with tools and language to use in your everyday life
What to Expect?
You do not have to talk. You are welcome to come, listen, and support others simply by being present. Empathy is encouraged, judgment is not. Real Talk is a facilitated group, meaning each session will have a general theme to ground the conversation, but the floor is open. If something else is on your mind, this is a space for that too. What’s said in the room stays in the room. There is a zero tolerance policy for rude or judgmental behaviour. This is a space where vulnerability is to be met with empathy and curiosity, and where every person present should feel free to speak without fear of ridicule or dismissal.
