Chantelle Barnhart
I believe people are not defined by their struggles, but by the values, strengths, and experiences that make them who they are. There is always more to a person than the challenges that bring them to counselling.
I approach each client with genuine curiosity, recognizing that every person brings a unique story, set of experiences, and perspective. My goal is to foster a space that feels both supportive and comfortable—where you don’t have to worry about being judged, having the “right” answers, or pretending to have it all figured out.
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta and hold a Master’s degree in Counselling from City University. My work is primarily grounded in Narrative Therapy, which focuses on the stories we develop about ourselves and our lives. Together, we explore how life experiences, relationships, and circumstances have shaped these stories, while identifying opportunities to create new perspectives that better reflect your values, strengths, and hopes for the future. I also draw from Solution-Focused and Person-Centred approaches, tailoring therapy to meet your unique needs and goals.
I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, family conflict, and life transitions. I work with adults, couples, families, and adolescents aged 16 and older.
Outside of the therapy room, I value maintaining balance through both adventure and rest. I enjoy staying active through skiing, hiking, and badminton, while also appreciating cozy movie nights at home with my husband and our pup.
