Eva Xu (Yifan)
My name is Eva Xu, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist who is passionate about supporting adolescents (15+) and adults experiencing problems related to trauma and PTSD. My priority is to hold a safe and compassionate space for you to understand what happened to you, identify your strengths and walk alongside you on your journey towards healing, integration and resilience.
My main approach is Attachment-Focussed EMDR, which is a modified form of EMDR that supports people with early attachment wounds and developmental trauma. I also incorporate interpersonal neurobiology and polyvagal theory to help you understand how your brain is impacted by trauma, as well as emotionally focussed therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and ego state therapy.
As a first-generation immigrant myself, I understand the challenges of living between different cultures and struggling to understand where you belong. I want to support you to discover your unique identity from an intersectional approach and I am able to provide therapy in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
